Savoir Vivre that shines bright, let’s chat with Chiara (or Stella Bambina or Baci di Dama)

https://bacididamaglutenfree.com/

Today we are chatting with the truly spectacular Chiara. Fonder of Baci di Dama and Stella Bambina, Chiara shines brighter than a diamond, I think we need the 411 on her Savoir Vivre to do more of whatever she’s doing, hehe.

What time do you wake up?

It depends, it can be 6, if I go to the swimming pool or 7 during week days – I am definitely a morning bird.

Morning routine?

I don’t like having routines… as the more you do, the less they make sense and your body gets used to them, so I prefer to listen to my body daily and give it what it needs.

How has your life changed since you have found out about your gluten intolerance?

A lot ! gluten is still everywhere (products, dishes at the restaurants, medicines…) and it is sometimes hard to find meals that are gluten free when you travel But I am positive that things will get smoother, they already are in big cities and I am SO grateful that it is positively changing

What is your key to always having a smile on your face?

I really don’t know… it’s always been with me since I can remember… no matter what I was going through…I guess it’s a way to survive, to transform everything it happens to me into a strength to go on and grow, to learn to be grateful of what I have, to be able to see the beauty around me and the good in people…

https://bacididamaglutenfree.com/

What is your greatest passion and why does it bring you joy?

I have many…. art, photography, cooking, discovering new restaurant or catching up with the one I know, drawing, writing, swimming, seeing the people I love…

Do you take any supplements or adaptogens?

Supplements yes and it depends on how I fee and the time of the year.

Coffee or tea?

Both as I like to vary what I drink – I don’t have favourite brands – I am a very curious human being – I like to try new things.

What do you do for exercise?

I love swimming!

What is on your current playlist? Can you share it with us?

I don’t have a playlist and again, the music I listen to, changes with my mood.

I do love Classic Music, as well as Neapolitan songs, POP music, Italian play writers. I can spend a whole month just with one and then I go to another one… ;)

https://bacididamaglutenfree.com/

Do you have a beauty routine? What products do you use?

Not really – I am learning to take care of me more, so it is important to take time to pamper myself … since last year I love using natural organic oils on my skin and hair … my fave… pure organ oil!

What time of the day do you feel the best?

All day, it really depends on the day and the mood.

How do you get your energy up at your down time of the day?

Meditation and studying are key tools from me – learning from people I admire is life!

How do you deal with the every day stress of being an entrepreneur?

I don’t have the perfect recipe but it will be as above, meditate and study, focus on the big self, not the small one.

chiara-cookingclass-risotto-parmigiano

What brought you to entrepreneurship?

One day I will know… I came to Paris almost 5 years ago with just a piece of luggage and a room on airbnb – I didn’t have a plan, a business plan, I just chose to be “my own woman” and prove myself I could… I could change my life to the roots … have confidence in me , love me more, do things that make me really happy and work to make them happen… that’s my life today :)

What is the last book you read?

I am reading “Trasformez Votre Vie” by L hay, she is an author that I often go back to.

What is your go to homemade meal?

Many … ! I love to cook and to change – every season has its own meals.

What time do you go to bed?

Sometimes early sometimes around 11.

https://bacididamaglutenfree.com/

What do you do to relax?

Meditate, be in Nature, do things I love, walk in the park, stay with my friends.

Favorite city in the world?

I don’t have one, I love many for different reasons: Berlin, London, Naples, Rome, Venice, Turin … I can keep on going ;)

Your dream vacation?

San Francisco.

Your next vacation?

Life Juice France {the most accessible, all natural and simply delicious pomegranate juice}

life-juice-pur-jus-de-grenade.jpg

So the general consensus here in Paris is that fresh, good natural and healthy juices are hard to find. We need to go far away to special places to find these kind of products. While yes, there are special boutiques catered to juice in Paris, I promise one of the best is not far from your door step – it’s called Life Juice. This 100% pure pomegranate juice, without any added sugar is created using pomegranates carefully selected from small farms, picked at maturity and pressed without the bark to minimize the astringency to achieve a taste intense yet refined.

27067682_884495275057418_5937255060791375958_n.png

Life Juice can be found at nearly all Parisian super markets (Monoprix, Franprix, Carrefour, Carrefour City, etc.), making it extremely accessible. The small format is practical (only 120 ml) and the contents within the bottle are so incredibly beneficial to the body. Not only is this berry loaded with Fiber, Protein, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Potassium but also contains two plant compounds with extremely powerful medicinal properties. One of these compounds, Punicalagins has been found to have three times the antioxidant activity of red wine and green tea. Pomegranates even have anti-inflammatory effects, help fight cancer and help to lower blood pressure and fight arthritis and joint pain. The list goes on and on. This stuff is really magical and Life Juice makes it accessible and easily consumable. Plus – it tastes really good. Check out their site for more information, and stay tuned as you will see more and more about this fabulous product on my social media.

Look Better and Feel Better {with products from sol semilla superaliments}

Jus-aux-superaliments-Carotte-Betterave-Epinards-Acerola-769x1024.jpg

Whether you’re health obsessed, ready to learn more, or don’t really care too much about “health products” and “supplements”, I can assure you that Sol Semilla Superaliments will inspire you. So what are “SUPERALIMENTS”? Well, an aliment itself is a nutrient. Therefore, SUPER aliments are living, natural and organic nutrients that are essential for well-being. Sounds convincing right? Sol Semilla offers a large variety of these products in a permanent search of optimal quality according to 4 criteria: nutrition, flavor and ecology. It sounds really intense, but I promise their products are not only intriguing but really work to make you better inside and out. I started with their Chlorella powder. This incredible nutrient has the power to capture heavy metals (mercury, cadmium, lead, arsenic …) and the chemicals found in the body and allow their elimination by natural means, activating and strengthening the intestines. Promise you’ll feel a sort of hippie high after a glass of this stuff.

Sol’s products are not strictly vitamin based. You can also find raw chocolate, kale chips, acai powder and so much more at Sol Semilla. What rocks, is that the staff is truly passionate about their products. I have spent numerous hours in their shop discussing their different powders and vitamins out of sheer curiosity. If you don’t have the time to visit their store (and restaurant) by the Canal Saint Martin (23, rue des Vinaigriers 75010 Paris), they are also present at the organic market in the sixth on Sunday’s from 9 am to 3 pm and you can even purchase their products online. Why not give it a try? It can’t hurt to feel better.

Free Persephone {your spa oasis in saint germain des pres}

faec693c7255143010cd569b2c0bd7f1_XL.jpg

Last year thanks to My Little Paris, I discovered a lovely little place called Free Persephone. They were having a Spritz Pedicure Special post the summer holidays, and of course I needed to take part. Little did I know this experience would be so much more than just a pedicure an an Aperol Spritz. I fell immediately in love with this spa oasis in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.

Today I had the luck of returning to Free Persephone for an Essential Manicure and it was sheer bliss. From start to finish I felt like a princess. Upon arrival, I was offered their special infusion tea of the day, a black tea with orange flowers. Oh la la how fabulously delicious. I was then accompanied by my manicurist to my spa chair and was waited on literally by hand and foot. Not to mention the quality of my manicure was superb.

Free Persephone is far from your typical day spa. It is a utopia of happiness and well-being. I invite you to check out their website to discover the wide range of services they offer (from massages, to mother daughter manicures to intimate birthday parties – not to mention special events as cool if not cooler than my Spritz Pedicure). Please stay tuned on my site, Insta @jjchase, Facebook page and theirs for all upcoming fun and fab events. And please pay them a visit – you won’t regret it, I promise.

No time for personal well-being? Now you do. {yoga connect is here to save you}

YOGA CONNECT 3.jpg

So we all know it’s super difficult to find time for ourselves. Yoga classes and meditation sessions alway seem to come at the wrong times, unless we have truly blocked these moments into our schedule. Carving out this personal time for well-being is just simply not as evident as we may like it to be. But we can fix this. I have a solution for you. It’s called Yoga Connect.YOGA CONNECT 1

Yoga Connect is a internet platform that allows you to practice anytime and anywhere. Best of all, you get your first 15 days for free. So no excuses for not giving it a shot. But this platform is not solely for devoted yogis, but also has meditation options, specialized workshop (right now they have an awesome creativity and flexibility workshop with two of my favorite yoga teachers, Tatiana and Alexander, um yes?) and retreat options! Honestly, what could be better. OH, just one thing. They also have an app, available for download on the AppStore. Safe to say, I highly recommend this super tool to cultivate self awareness and practice self care with ease. For more information check out their website.

An app that makes meditation pretty easy {yes it’s possible, i promise}

05.01.2018

If you’re like me, you’ve heard about meditating for years, the health benefits, etc. etc. You’ve wanted to start but you simply haven’t found the time or energy, and honestly didn’t even know where to start. This was me until this summer, when I was lucky enough to find a truly magical place called Inscape. I won’t belabor you with bio details, how and who started it (but you can find this information on their beautiful website https://www.inscape.life/). I practiced there a few times while I was home visiting my family. These experiences were quite frankly unforgettable. AND the best part is you can access their meditations anywhere, anytime. They have an app.

inscape_905x480.detail.jpg

While the Inscape app does come with an annual price, you can try it for free for 14 days (available for download on the Apple App Store). The app gives you tons of awesome options, including meditations during the commute and also suggests meditations for you based on the time of the day and moment in the week. There are deep rest meditations, sound meditations and even meditation techniques. You even receive a little inspirational quote after your meditation; I promise it is THAT cool. I’ll leave the rest for you to discover, but this thing has changed my world. Just give it a shot.
