Who can honestly say they they are sick of hummus? You are most certainly not me if this is the case (and I truly question your taste buds if you said no). As I spoke about in my recent article on Yafo, Hummus has tons of health benefits most of us are very unaware of. So no need to fret on that front. That being said, let me introduce you to a relatively new address in Paris for the most natural, organic and authentic hummus around – Chiche.
For starters, the owners Marc Ancointe Tallec & Jonathan Sason Cohen are serious about the ingredients and everything that goes from their kitchen to your plate. They use only organic and seasonal ingredients and import their tahini and pitas directly from Israel. It doesn’t get much better than that? Their menu offers many different variations of hummus bowls, ranging from their biggest hit – a mixture of beef and lamb with pickled onions and parsley, to their spicy eggplant bowl. They also feature a seasonal Madjadra Bowl which is a sort of Israeli couscous (a base of bulgar and lentils with pickled onions, Israeli salad and a mix of vegetables). I got to try the special veggie for this one when I stopped by yesterday, it was a fabulous broccoli with sweet cranberries. Sheer deliciousness. Take my word for it and go have a healthy yet very satisfying experience at this awesome spot. Chiche – 29bis rue du Château d’Eau 75010.
Let’s face it, who isn’t kind of obsessed with hummus? That creamy and yummy stuff that goes with just about everything? First things first, is it really good for us? Or is this just some kind of myth we guilt-fully tell ourselves. Well I have good news for you, The Huffington Post confirms that we should be eating more of this heavenly goodness. Apparently it can prevent cancer, lower cholesterol and even help you loose weight (?). Check the hyperlink for more info. So now that that’s taken care of, let’s talk about a place here in Paris where it couldn’t get any better. I haven’t been to Yafo in Israel, but I can tell you that this cute little place in Paris is just to die for.
At Yafo, I almost always get the “Veggie Hummus”. This delicious bowl consists of a copious amount of absolutely delicious hummus, topped with seasonal veggies and other simple surprises. Above is a veggie version featured on LeFooding, which I was lucky enough to try when it was one of their specials. Below is what they currently have on the menu – turnip with smoked olive oil and grilled almonds. They also have a selection of Israeli salads, as well as a simple deli and meat hummus bowl options. Yafo really has got your hummus hook up. Go have a try – Yafo, 96 rue d’Hauteville 75010, and check their site for more info.
Welcome to Love Juice Bar. Here in Paris we are used to tiny little spaces, but this one is especially petite. That being said, there ain’t no lack of love. Located on Rue Chapon in the third, this spot is truly sublime. I had only tried once prior, but knew I needed to go back for more.
This time I checked out the PB bowl. The bowl base is organic bananas, mixed with super creamy raw peanut butter. On top I enjoyed coconut, dark chocolate, a very special kind of granola and of course a bit of banana. Let me tell you, this thing tastes like gold (and tasted even better with my golden latte). As seen on their menu, they have 7 bowl options, one of course being a classic acai. You can count on seeing me there again to test another one of these beauties. I was lucky enough to dine with one of my dear friends who went with their avo toast. I can assure you that this meal took her to another place, it was that good. On gluten free bread, with a bit of olive oil and chili powder, disappointment is simply not an option. I know myself as I went for the avo toast my last time at Love. Kindly note all ingredients are organic (always a plus). Please go and get your own little piece of love – 26 Rue de Chapon 75003 Paris. They also have a pretty sweet Insta – @lovejuicebar. P.s. Thanks for the Insta love below you guys. Love Bar Rocks!
