There is nothing better than a delicious meal in Italy. I mean come on, if you go to the right place, the ingredients are so fresh, everything is homemade and all is just perfect. But finding these places is the difficultly. It is so much easier to stumble upon a tourist trap with mediocre pasta than to find a real gem, like Taglio. Especially in an industrial city like Milan.
This fabulous cafe, restaurant, bar and gourmet is located by the Canal and offers fabulous service from morning to night. When last in Milan I stopped by for an aperitivo and was taken aback by the quality of ingredients, delicious bites and incredible wine. You can stop by Taglio at any moment of the day, be it for a coffee in the morning, to buy fresh homemade pasta at their grocery at any time of the day, during the day for lunch or in the evening for an aperitf or for dinner. It will all be excellent. I can’t wait to go back to Italy for another round. They use either the highest quality ingredients or ones that are homemade! Taglio – VIA VIGEVANO, 10 20144 MILANO.
I may not be a vegan, but I most certainly enjoy a yummy vegan meal. It seems like a new address pops up every day in Paris, but my heart still lies with the woman who started it all – Angèle. I discovered La Guinguette d’Angèle while working at A.P.C., where her famous lunchboxes frequented our photoshoot sets. It was always the best kind of day when the shoot was catered by Angèle.
The business has now expanded and is no longer just a catering service. There are now two storefront locations in Paris, one in the first, for take away only (34 rue Coquillère) and a takeaway AND eat in location in the eleventh (2 Rue du Général Renault). She also has her own line of granola, kale chips (and much more) and 2 cookbooks! I stopped by to eat lunch there today and it was well worth the visit.
Lunch started with their daily lunch box, a mixture of organic and vegan ingredients including homemade beet hummus, salad, grains and a lentil pea salad. Simple and very light but excellent. Thus, I could not help but to treat myself to a piece of her delicious vegan, gluten free banana bread for dessert – and oh yes, it was good. The perfect end to a incredibly vitamin rich and delicious meal that left me feeling happy. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nutritious meal that tastes good and really makes you feel good. For more information, check out her website.
RE/DONE is probably one of the most genius fashion concepts out there at the moment. Not to mention we have a very special relationship. Partly because I am obsessed with their cuts and great styles AND the fact that they look awesome pre and post yoga, but mostly because the idea, concept and brand ethos comes from a place near and dear to my heart and I am really really excited to share it all with you guys.
For starters, RE/DONE is not a denim brand (or so they say). It is a movement. Why? Because they are the first luxury brand to restore individuality and keep heritage brands relevant while also creating sustainable fashion. RE/DONE celebrates the stories of years of wear that Vintage Levi’s denim carries. Via the circulation of owners and transformation of the fabric, RE/DONE aspires to not only celebrate each jean’s personal past, but be a part of their (nearly) eternal story. They take apart these individual vintage pieces are recut and resew them into their own personal cuts and styles.
Even cooler, RE/DONE is entirely manufactured in Down town Los Angeles, and proudly use water conserving methods (nothing harsh and artificial). While this artisanal garment comes at a rather high price, it is my favorite kind of splurge. As they say themselves, ‘WE ARE RE/DONE, AND WE’RE PROUD TO MAKE JEANS AS UNIQUE AS YOU ARE.” Their jeans aren’t just for the models on Instagram, but for every and all women (and even men). They also have some awesome t-shirts and other garments that I am a huge fan of. Please check out their site, splurge and become a part of the movement. (P.S. Global free shipping everyone)
We usually burn candles for a scent or odor we enjoy, right? What if there was a candle that emitted energies that were sometimes healing, other times loving and often even cleansing? If this fabulous idea sounds just as fabulous to you as it does to me, then you will have met your match. Mama Moon Candles is it. As owner and creator Semra says it herself “these candles are infused with positive energy, healing and the manifestation of all things meta-physical through the mystique and magic of a flickering flame. “
I recently got my hands on a Love Manifestation candle, which is infused with Oud and Rose. Oud is believed to draw your lover close to you with its rich and hypnotic scent. Roses are a powerful symbol of love. A rose scent can attract love and bring inspiration and luck in to your home. Let’s just say I’m feeling the love in my place. Each candle comes along with a little manifestation suggestion. For this one Sema suggests to breathe in deep and visualize gratitude for all the love in your life, let it wash over you and manifest what you want. If that doesn’t scream good vibes only, I don’t does.
Mama also recently launched a line of magic potions. These purifiers allow us to cleanse and health, by sending out only the most positive vibrations into the world. I’m currently using the Spiritual Bleach potion, which clears negativity; bringing peace comfort and healing. Each potion has a different purpose and magical energy (akin to Mama candles). I wholeheartedly confirm that these products are just awesome and will change your life. I am a super fan. Please visit their site for more info on the products and where you can find them.
